Child & parent safety policy
Last updated 2026-07-17
Our commitment. BuildKins is designed so a child cannot be contacted privately, cannot be named by a stranger, and cannot be manipulated by engagement tricks. These aren't promises we monitor — they're limits we built in.
No private contact, by construction
There is no chat, no direct messaging, and no private messaging at any account level. Children can add friends so they can find and join each other's games, but friends still communicate only through emotes and preset phrases — never free text. The network that games run on cannot carry a typed message, chat features from imported games connect to nothing, and there is no text-input box anywhere in a game. A child cannot receive a private message on BuildKins because the capability does not exist.
Curated handles, never free-text names
Every player is identified by a handle assembled from a safe, curated word list. Children do not type their own display names, so a name cannot be used to share personal information, contact details, or inappropriate content.
Only phrases we wrote
Players can send emotes and a fixed set of preset phrases, each authored and reviewed by our team and shown in the recipient's own language. The complete list of things one player can say to another is finite, fixed, and known to us. There is no user-generated text to moderate after the fact.
Human review of every game
A person plays every game before it goes live and checks it against a fixed list. Games with loot boxes, gambling mechanics, streak or FOMO pressure, pay-to-skip walls, or any text-input workaround do not pass review. The uploader must also attest they hold the rights to what they publish.
No engagement engineering
We do not collect playtime analytics and we do not design features to pull children back into the app. There are no daily streaks, no countdown timers, and no "your friends are online" nudges. When a child is done playing, nothing is working to change their mind.
Parents are in control
A parent or guardian creates the account, provides verifiable consent, and can review or delete their child's information or close the account at any time. Any paid extras are purchased on the web by a parent — never by a child inside a game.
Report something
If you ever see something that concerns you, email safety@buildkins.com and a person will respond. Because the risky surfaces don't exist, reports are rare — but we take every one seriously.
