Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-07-17 · Effective 2026-07-17
The short version. BuildKins is built for children. We collect as little as possible, we never sell it, we never show ads, and we never let anyone send your child a free-text message. This page explains the details in plain language.
1. Who we are
BuildKins is operated by dromos, inc. ("BuildKins," "we," "us"). This policy covers buildkins.com, the BuildKins apps for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android, and the games playable through them. You can reach us any time at privacy@buildkins.com.
2. Children and parental consent
BuildKins is directed to children and complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Accounts for children are created through a parent or guardian invitation. Before a child account is activated, we obtain verifiable consent from the parent or guardian using the email address they provide.
A parent may review their child's information, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@buildkins.com. Withdrawing consent closes the child's account.
3. What we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the service:
- From the parent: an email address, used to verify consent and to contact you.
- For the child account: a generated handle (e.g. BraveBlueFox), a password, and — if you provide them — a first name and age. Children never enter a free-text display name.
- Gameplay records: which games were opened and purchase records where a purchase was made. We do not keep detailed playtime analytics.
- Technical basics: device type and a session identifier needed to connect to a game room and keep the service secure.
4. What we never collect
We do not collect free-text messages (there is no way to send one), contact lists, precise location, biometric data, or advertising identifiers. We do not build behavioral or advertising profiles of children, and we do not track playtime for the purpose of increasing engagement.
5. How we use information
We use the information above to create and secure accounts, connect players to game rooms, process purchases a parent makes, verify parental consent, and respond to support requests. That's the whole list. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.
6. How players communicate
Players communicate only through emotes and a fixed set of preset phrases we write. The service transmits which preset was chosen, not any text a player typed — because typing text is not possible anywhere in a game. As a result, there is no user-generated message content for us to store, review, or disclose.
7. Sharing and third parties
We never sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run BuildKins — our cloud host, our database provider, and our payment processor (Stripe) for parent-initiated purchases — and only the data they need to perform that function. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of a child or the public.
8. Data retention and security
We keep information only as long as the account is active or as needed to meet legal and billing obligations, then delete it. Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to staff who need it, and payment details are handled by Stripe — we never store card numbers.
9. Your choices and rights
Parents can review, correct, export, or delete their child's information, and can withdraw consent, by contacting us. We honor deletion requests promptly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR; email us to exercise them.
10. Changes and contact
If we make a material change to this policy that affects a child's information, we'll notify the parent by email before it takes effect. Questions? Write to privacy@buildkins.com or dromos, inc., Houston, TX.
